| This gallery is of an uncommon variety of Austinite from Utah, Cuprian Austinite. Austinite is CaZn(AsO4)OH and normally white to colorless while Cuprian Austinite is green to light green in color. These are from 110' level of the Gold Hill Mine in Tooele County, Utah which is the type locality of Austinite discovered in 1935. This was a very limited fine and I was only able to get a few specimens of this Cuprian variety. January 2005 |
