15   5iddbr  ((EPIDOTE)),  $10 MINIMUM BID, Northern Frontier District, Kenya, Thumbnail, Thumbnail sized dark green terminated Epidote with several side crystals. 

 

16   7gewdin  ((4 STAUROLITE)),  $10 MINIMUM BID, Unknown location, 2 to 2.5 cm in length,  4 Thumbnails,  4 terminated and double terminated Staurolite crystals.  I was told these were from Ireland, but I do not believe the unreliable source that they were purchased from.  Perhaps the location could be determined from the look.

19   8ectgne  ((BENITOITE, NEPTUNITE)),  $35 MINIMUM BID, Gem Mine, San Benito County, California, 5 x 3.5 x 1 cm, Miniature,  Here is a Gem Mine cabinet miniature sized specimen with two blue transluscent Bemitoite crystals with several small black lustrous Neptunite crystals.   Benitoite crystals do fluorescence.

21    5swl  ((WOLFRAMITE, QUARTZ, MUSCOVITE)),  $10 MINIMUM BID, Yaogangxian Mine, Hunan, China, 5 x 4.5 x 3 cm, Cabinet,  Lustrous terminated and double terminated Wolframite with the three sets of main crystals undamaged.  Associated Muscovite and Quartz also present.

 

22    8edbfls  ((FLUORITE)),  $60 MINIMUM BID, Naica, Chihuahua, Mexico, 7.5 x 5.5 x 4.5 cm, Cabinet,  A cabinet sized specimen with light greenish cubo octahedral crystals of Fluorite. The close up show the Pyrite inclusions which I see two in the larger photo.  It is undamaged except for 3 small areas.  Two of these on on the edges and the other faces downward and is nearly invisible with the specimen displayed as above.  It sits perfectly without a stand for display in two positions (as above and slightly leaning back).   These Naica Fluorites are expensive but very fine.

23  8ectgg  ((WULFENITE, GREEN MIMETITE)),  $10 MINIMUM BID, Ojuela Mine, Durango, Mexico, 8 x 5 x 3.5 cm, Miniature,  Carmel colored dipyramidal Wulfenite from this relatively new fine.  These Wulfenites are with associated dark blackish green Mimetite.  The Mimetite is also thinly coated on the Wulfenite making them also appear green. 

 

24      5swl  ((FLUORITE)),  $10 MINIMUM BID, Yaogangxian Mine, Hunan, China, 5 x 4.5 x 4 cm, Cabinet,  Lustrous glassy Purple cubic Fluorite.  One lowere corner cleaved and back while undamaged is dull and opaque from matrix contact.
25    5jmpsn  ((QUARTZ FLOWER in FLUORESCENT GEODE)),  $10 MINIMUM BID, Dugway Mtns, Tooele County, Utah, 4 x 4 x 3.5 cm, Miniature,  Here is a large Quartz flower in a small Dugway geode.  The hyolite Opal or Chalcedony in the Geode also makes it fluoresce green under SW
26    8ecgmrs  ((TOURMALINE, QUARTZ, CLEAVELANDITE)),  $50 MINIMUM BID, Cryo Genie Mine, San Diego, California,  8 x 5 x 3.5 cm, Cabinet, Here is a TERMINATED tourmaline on matrix with several Quartz crystals on a matrix of white Cleavelandite.  Many times matrix Tourmalines are repaired and about half way up the Tourmaline has been glued back on the part that is attached to the matrix and also to the side of the Quartz crystal.  I did not take that good of a picture but the Tourmaline is free standing on the top half and makes a great display piece.
27   6ddbfin  ((SMITHSONITE)),  $20 MINIMUM BID, Choix, Sinaloa, Mexico,  5 x 4.5 x 2.2 cm, Miniature, Excellent pink color.  The pink Smithsonite is actually second generation.  It has overgrown blue green Smithsonite.  From the back you can see the core of darker Smithsonite.

 

28    2hhsht  ((BIRNESSITE, CALCITE)),  $10 MINIMUM BID, 300' level, Gold Hill Mine, Clifton District, Tooele County, Utah,  5.5 x 2 x 1.5 cm, Miniature, Here is a large specimen of the white Calcite stalactite with the top and sides covered with the rare black Birnessite.  Also Gold Hill is barred shut with heavy rebar by the state of Utah and so no more Gold Hill collecting underground specimens.  Specimen bottom is hot glued to a block plastic stand but is not damaged and fully formed.

 30   6ddceie  ((SMOKY QUARTZ, MICROCLINE, ALBITE)),  $10 MINIMUM BID, Government Pit, Albany, New Hampshire,  12 x 6.5 x 4 cm, Cabinet,  Fine specimen of terminated Smoky Quartz, blocky Microcline crystals and white Albite,  ex Ernie Schlichter. 

 

31   8fdbfr  ((WULFENITE on ARSENATIAN VANADINITE aka ENDLICHITE)),  $10 MINIMUM BID, Ojuela Mine, Durango, Mexico, 8 x 5 x 3.5 cm, Miniature,  red orange colored dipyramidal Wulfenite on a matrix covered with small brownish tan crystals of Arsenation Vanadinite. I did not try a close up but the Crystals are excellent under a loop and visible also with your eye.  Back side looks like a ceiling covered with stalactites (photo did not come out well).

 

32  5atjkir  ((CALCITE STALACTITE)),  $10 MINIMUM BID, Southwest Mine, Bisbee, Cochise County, Arizona, 8 cm in length, Cabinet,  Undamaged and teminated stalactite from Bisbee.  The termination has a little side stalactite.  Also a peppering of green Brochantite on the Stalactite.  These were collected a few years ago and I got several flats.  There has been and probably won't be any future access to collect.

33  7ddmwl  ((PYRITE SUN)),  $10 MINIMUM BID, Sparta, Illinois, 10 x 10 cm, Cabinet,  Nice round shape.  Undamaged Pyrite sun from the shales in the coal mines near Sparta. 

 
34   7dddbtg  ((RHODOCHROSITE)),  $50 MINIMUM BID, Sunnyside Mine, Silverton, San Juan County, Colorado, 5 x 4 x 2 cm, Miniature,  Colorado's other major rhodo location.  Several flattened pink rhombs of undamaged Rhodochrosite.   Only those on the edge of the specimen have damage.  ex Dave Bunk specimen.
35  3qua64idvma  ((ROSE QUARTZ on QUARTZ)),  $10 MINIMUM BID, Pitorra Mine, Galilea, Minas Gerais, Brazil, 2.5 x 2 x 1 cm, Thumbnail,  Pink Rose Quartz crystals on Quartz.  Crystalline Rose Quartz is uncommon at best.

39  96kpjtl ((PYRITE STALACTITES)), $10 MINIMUM BID, Huanzala Mine, Dos de Mayo Province, Huanuco Province, Peru, 6 x 2.8 x 1.7 cm, Miniature,  A 6 cm section of a cluster of 6 Pyrite stalactites.  These are very rarely seen terminated and these are not terminated.  But looking at the ends, the tiny holes characteristic of stalactites are clearly visible and easy to count.

40   7ddmwr ((FLUORESCENT CHALCEDONY GEODE)), $10 MINIMUM BID, Chihuahua, Mexico, 7 x 6 x 6 cm, Cabinet,  This type of specimen has been on the auction before.  I thought these were New Mexico but I have verified that these are actually from Chihuahua, Mexico. The fluoresce green under SW UV

42     7atkrr ((Bubbles in CALCITE)), $10 MINIMUM BID, Charcas, San Luis Potosi, Mexico, 7 x 5.5 x 4.5 cm, Cabinet,  Side of specimen says BUBBLES IN CALCITE.  With a lope I see some spherical indents on the faces of the Calcite.  I did not see any internal bubbles.  But you may have to look very carefully.  In any case I do not know for sure so buy it  AS IS WITH OR WITHOUT and BUBBLES.  It is on a Pyrite matrix.

62    5hhshis ((TETRAHEDRITE, PYRITE, QUARTZ)), $10 MINIMUM BID, Daly Judge Mine, Park City, Utah,  7 x 5 x 3.5 cm, Cabinet,  Most of Pyrite is damaged while there is some nicely formed and undamaged Tetrahedrite crystals.  Tetrahedral from the Daly Judge came out many years ago when Bryan Lees of Collectors edge was just getting started.  He bought the many lot of these Park City Tetrahedrites.  This on came from the collector who still had a few that he had saved.

64   5ggg ((STILBITE)), $10 MINIMUM BID, Jewel Tunnel area, Deccan Traps, India, 5.5 x 5.5 x 3.5 cm, Miniature, Cluster of lustrous cream colored Stilbite sheaves and bowties.  Jewel Tunnel was the first major imported of Indian minerals.  This evidently is one of these that were early on in importing Indian minerals.  Rock Currier chose his company name from this location which he called Jewel Tunnel Inc and Jewel Tunnel area.  Undamaged.   Older specimen from the Gil Griffin collection.

Large Miniature, 5.7 x 4.5 x 3.6 cm

 

A sharply crystallized example of this rare sulfate species, formerly known as Schonite, from a classic locality long abandoned. Minor halite is associated underneath and around the backside. It is, overall, a very attractive miniature. It carries an old label from the Bergakadmemie Freiberg. Sharp and complete all around, very 3-dimensional.
