1    13hhjjis  ((FLUORITE, GALENA, SPHALERITE)),   $10 MINIMUM BID,  Huanzala Mine, Peru, 6 x 6 x 3.5 cm,  Miniature,  Here is Peruvian specimen with a matrix of Galena and Sphalerite mix.  On the matrix are light grey translucent to transparent crystals of Fluorite, clusters of lustrous small crystals of Galena, large lustrous dark crystals of Sphalerite.  Overall in great shape with only a couple of minor cleaves which are hard to see on the top.  Front display side looks undamaged.

17     13hhjjr  ((TRILOBITE ELRATHIA KINGI with BITE MARK healing)),   $25 MINIMUM BID, Wheeler Shale, Delta, Utah,  9 x 8 x 1.5 cm, Cabinet,  Here is a Cambrian age trilobite from the Wheeler Shale formation.  The name is Elrathia kingi. The largest one is 4 cm long.  Average  size is 2 to 3 cm.  So this is a larger than usual specimen.  This specimen also has a rare healed bite mark.  Other sea creatures ate these trilobites.  The lower ribs are not as wide and they are also shorter than the top ribs.  This is evidence that a non lethal bite was taken and the wound healed and carapace partially regrew but left a scar.

The dark green and light green slabs are typical Lucin Variscite.   Popular in lapidary to make cabachons for pendants and bolas. 

58    99ecaots  ((BOLEITE with PARATACAMITE)),   $25 MINIMUM BID,  Amelia Mine, Santa Rosalia, Baja California, Mexico, 3.5 x 3 x 3 cm,  Miniature,  Here is a matrix Boleite specimen with 3 dark blue lustrous undamaged Boleite crystals to .5 cm.  The crystals are cubic with small and large octahedral modification causing the corners to be beveled.  One crystal has unusually pronounced corner beveling.  These were mined by Swaboda who worked the mine for specimens in, I believe the 70's or 80's.  Minor green on the front but lots of green on the backside is green Paratacamite.  NOTE: DO NOT GET THE MATRIX WET! Most of these are on a matrix that sucks up water and comes apart.  This one is better matrix than most but also looks like it has been stabilized with Elmers glue and water mix.  With an eyedropper minimal of droplets of dilute Elmers are allowed to soak into the matrix and dry.  They leave a little shiny surface residue when dry.   ex Swaboda.

63  8hlkmns   ((MAGNETITE)),  $10 MINIMUM BID, Grace Mine, Morgantown, Berks County, Pennsylvania,  2.5 x 2.5 x 1.5 cm,  Thumbnail,  Here are crystals of Magnetite from this iron mine owned by Bethlehem Steel, once a major steel producer located in south eastern Pennsylvania.  Specimens were not collected or saved to any great extent on this underground operation.  A few were brought out in lunchboxes.  The main shaft was sealed with tons of concrete and the vast mine property sold.  Investors purchased the property and turned it into the town of Morgan.  It now is the home of an incinerator and a constant line of trash trucks arrive from Philadelphia each day with the Pennsylvania turnpike exit and entrance just across the road from the old mine property.

 

64  3ecmlns   ((HUBNERITE, QUARTZ)),  $10 MINIMUM BID, Pasto Bueno, Peru,  8 x 8 x 7 cm, Cabinet,  Here is a Peruvian cluster of Quartz crystals with long narrow crystals.  It has a large terminated black terminated Hubnerite crystal just poking through the Quartz.  The side of the specimen shows the Hubnerite extending 5.5 cm into the Quartz specimen and out the bottom.  The bottom of the specimen also shows that many more Hubnerite crystals are inside the Quartz.

70   9hljdts  ((OPAL variety GEYSERITE)),  $25 MINIMUM BID, Grand Geysers, Iceland,  8 x 8 x 1.8 cm, Cabinet,  Here is an uncommon specimen rarely seen for sale at mineral shows or on line.  It is a Geyserite, a variety of non precious opal  deposited by Geysers in Iceland.

 

 

 
 

71    13hhjjis  ((QUARTZ)),   $20 MINIMUM BID,  Minas Gerais, Brazil, 12 x 11 x 7 cm,  Cabinet,  This was a vugs that was lined in Quartz. The outside rock is gone leaving the Quartz cast which is hollow and line with druzy Quartz. There are two current small openings showing the hollow center lined in micro druzy Quartz.
