With only 5 on mindat.org from North Dakota, these look alikes are rare with only a relative few ever collected.  They looks exactly like Manitoba, Winnipeg, Red River Floodway Gypsums,  No commercial mining operation, just a few found and picked up on contruction sites.  Especially with being found by notices, they have been handled well.  They all have a few flat cleaved areas on the sides of the crystals.  There is 195 photos on mindat from Manitoba.  They occur in pleistocene lake agassiz clay.  The floodway is one of the few excavations in flat ground deep enough to hit the clay layer.  In manitoba the collecting is controlled by the floodway authority in Canada and collecting only allowed every 5 years or so to the Manitoba Mineral Society for a short period of time.   The clay zone extends to North Dakota but is only very occasionally accessed by contruction.  So Manitoba specimens come out perhaps every 5 years and are around but not plentiful.  North Dakota specimens are a rarity to ever being out and then only a few.
